Minnesota is to be credited for standing up for the moral and ethical good. Unfortunately, it won’t stop prosecutors from pursuing preparing people who were neurologically detached from reality when unlawful or violent acts were committed – for prosecution. Nonetheless, whatever the state’s reasoning was for making the change (and there might have been mixed motives…altruistic and fiscally advantageous perhaps), the policy change was the right thing to do.
